The MacGician is an unassuming American entertainer who, in reaction to a midlife crisis, has decided to claim his Celtic heritage and wear contemporary Highland Dress.  He's done so believing that he will come off like “Braveheart”—heroic and virile—but secretly he wonders if it just makes him appear to be less manly than he fears he's already perceived.

Self-conscious and slightly maladjusted, he overcompensates with bluff and bravado to hilarious effect. 

Fortunately, his saving grace is his magical prowess and, in the end, astonishment delightfully ensues.
